Brand identity design for Vistas Psychotherapy & Wellness, based in Toronto. Amanda Carver has been expanding her practice and wanted to establish a new brand for herself and her team to work under. As an avid outdoors person, Amanda talked a great deal about her belief in the importance of immersing ourselves in nature as often as possible and how calming it is to sit and take in a wide open natural vista. That word, Vistas, resonated a great deal with me and I pitched it along with the visual concept as the new identity for her business.
The icon blends all aspects that I hope to see in a lush natural vista: a golden sun on the rise or just about to set, a gently winding or rippling body of water, soft and relaxing blue skies, and lush greenery. The colour palette was pulled from an image of the northern Ontario wilderness where Amanda and her family often spend a great deal of time.
